Basmati rice
Residues, quality
Tricyclazole and multi-residue screening for EU, UK and Gulf markets, plus grain quality.
Rice, cereals & pulses testing
We test basmati and non-basmati rice, wheat, maize, millets and pulses for pesticide residues, aflatoxin, heavy metals, moisture and grain quality, against EU, Gulf, Asian and FSSAI limits.
Rice and grain testing lab
Rice and cereal testing is the laboratory analysis of rice, wheat, maize, millets and pulses for pesticide residues, mycotoxins, heavy metals, moisture and quality, to show a lot meets export, buyer and FSSAI requirements.
Pesticide residues are the main risk for rice exports. The fungicide tricyclazole, widely used on rice in India, has an EU limit of 0.01 mg/kg, and lots above it are rejected. Aflatoxin and heavy metals such as arsenic and cadmium are also checked by many markets.
Accurate Universal Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. tests rice, cereals and pulses for exporters, millers and traders, and fortified rice kernels against IS 17782.

Shipping rice soon?
Test before the container is sealed, not after a rejection at the port.
Why rice testing matters
Good-looking rice can still be rejected for a single pesticide above the limit. A residue test before shipment protects the lot, the buyer relationship and the price you get.

Testing parameters
These are the tests most often required for grain exports and domestic compliance.
| Test | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
| Pesticide residues incl. tricyclazole | EU limit for tricyclazole in rice is 0.01 mg/kg |
| Aflatoxins and ochratoxin A | Mycotoxin limits for rice, maize and cereals |
| Heavy metals (arsenic, cadmium, lead) | Limits for rice and cereals in the EU and other markets |
| Moisture | Storage stability and contract specification |
| Grain quality | Broken grains, foreign matter and damaged grains |
| Uric acid and insect damage | Indicators of infestation in grains and pulses |
| Fortified rice kernels | Iron, folic acid and vitamin B12 levels |
| Microbiology | Hygiene and pathogen checks for flours and processed grains |

FAQs
Pesticide residues including tricyclazole, aflatoxin, heavy metals such as arsenic and cadmium, moisture and grain quality parameters such as broken and damaged grains, as required by the buyer and destination.
Usually because of pesticide residues above the importing country's limit. In the EU, many pesticides have very low limits, and where no specific limit exists a default of 0.01 mg/kg applies. A pre-shipment residue test avoids this.
The EU maximum residue limit for tricyclazole in rice is 0.01 mg/kg. We confirm the current limit for your shipment before testing.
Yes. We test fortified rice kernels against IS 17782, including fortificant levels and quality parameters.
The cost depends on the tests required. Share your product, destination and buyer specification and we will send an itemised quotation.
Yes. Our Ahmedabad laboratory is accredited by NABL to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (certificate TC-5021) and our Rajkot laboratory under certificate TC-7988. The tests and products covered are listed in our scope of accreditation, and we confirm whether your parameters are within scope before testing.
