Ready-to-eat meals
Microbial safety
Cooked meals, curries and snacks eaten without further cooking.
Processed food, nuts & nut products testing
We test ready-to-eat meals, frozen foods, pickles, sauces, jams and instant mixes, and roasted and salted nuts, nut snacks, peanut butter and nut pastes, for microbiology, aflatoxin, additives, nutrition and shelf life.
Packaged food testing lab
Processed food and nut products testing is the laboratory analysis of cooked, preserved and packaged foods and of nuts and nut products for microbiological safety, aflatoxin, additives, composition and nutrition, to show they are safe and compliant.
Processed foods go through cooking, preserving and packing steps that each carry a risk: survival of bacteria, too much preservative, illegal colours or loss of quality during storage. Testing shows the product is safe and consistent from batch to batch.
Nuts and nut products such as roasted and salted nuts, peanut butter, nut pastes and nut snacks carry an added risk of aflatoxin, rancidity and Salmonella. Accurate Universal Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. tests processed foods and nut products for manufacturers, brands and exporters.

Why processed food testing matters
Processed foods are eaten without further cooking or after only reheating, so microbial safety is critical. Additives must stay within FSSAI limits, and quality has to last until the date on the pack.

Testing parameters
These are the tests most often required for processed and packaged foods.
| Test | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
| Microbiology | TPC, coliforms, E. coli, Salmonella, Listeria, S. aureus, yeast and mould |
| Preservatives | Benzoate, sorbate and sulphites within permitted limits |
| Synthetic colours | Only permitted colours within limits |
| Acidity and pH | Safety and stability of acidified foods |
| Salt and sugar | Composition and labelling |
| Total soluble solids (Brix) | Quality parameter in FSSAI standards |
| Moisture and fat | Composition, texture and shelf life |
| Aflatoxins | Toxic mould compounds with strict limits in nuts |
| Rancidity (acid and peroxide value) | Fat oxidation causes off-flavours in nut products |
| Nutrition values | Values for the nutrition panel |
